I like Reilly’s video, the pictures are very sad and about the Great Depression. The song is also very meaningful and goes along perfectly with the video. The song is what makes the video better, because it talks about hardships.
What words in the song make the video better? What mood does the song evoke within you, Madison?
Mr. Hammonds: The words that i think make the video better is when it says ” people keep drifting, from door to door,” because the stament is true. In the great depression, people lost everything like their home & money. The mood that the song makes me feel is sadness, because the great depression is sad, and shock because im thinking, ” Wow, things like losing money & homes& jobs really happens. what does the song make you think of?
I like reilly’s video because it shows of the hard times people of the great deppresion had. I also like the mood of the song; it goes with what the people of the great depression probably felt like.
I like Reilly’s video because it shows the hardships everyone went through during the Great Depression.Like Madi said I think the most meaningful words in the song are “people keep drifting, from door to door.” I think those words were a reality in those days. people probably walked from door to door asking for food, clothing, shelter, and money.Reilly, how would you feel if you had to walk door to door asking for all the things you couldn’t provide for yourself and your family?
I like Reilly’s video because it goes along with the book very well since obviously we are talking about the Great Deppression. Kind of like Melissa said people most likely walked around wearing ratty clothes going to peoples houses asking for food, money, clothes, and shelter. I could tell by he video that the Great Depression was a very hard and sad time for not only the people themselves but for their families. If I were in one of those peoples shoes I probably would be tring my hardest just to feed my family .
Stephanie, what if no matter how hard you tried your family had no clothes shelter or food, what would you do?
Melissa- honestly I really would not be able to do anything no matter how hard I tried
Stephanie, would you and your family be devasated if they lost everything they had? How would you cope?
Madi- yes we would be pretty devestated if we lost everything because all of our treasures would be gone. I would try to stay together and follow my family around. It depends how I lost everything. If a depression, afterward we would get a job and grow our lifes back together.
Dear Mr. Hammonds,
Ten years before the Great Depression, people were building railroads and towers. Our country had made money during World War I. Families had homes and dads had jobs. But, in a blink of an eye, it can all change from adults to children and country to country poverty is not selective.
Why do you think you need to cherish what you have now instead of what you will have in the future?
Madison,
Good question. We would be devastated and embarrassed. My family would pray a lot because we believe God will always take care of us. Bad things happen to good people. We never know what will happen tomorrow. My family helps people and charities when we can, and we are thankful everyday.
Melissa,
You would have to do what you could no matter what from hunting to fishing to wearing old torn clothes.
I like jonathans video, it showed how some people had dreams but couldnt complete them because of the great depression.
Madi- if you lost everything what would you do? Where would you go? What would you do?
jeremiah i like your video. i like how it has a sad song and it really painted a picture in my mind about how hard it would be to live during that time.why did you pick this specific video out of all the ones you could’ve picked?
